On June 18, 2024, the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development of the Republic of Slovenia approved the project Promoting the Inclusion of Employees at Risk of Losing Their Jobs, including those in positions subject to digitalization and automation – SPIN 2.0. The project, with a total value of EUR 7,000,000.00, will be implemented by the Fund until December 31, 2028.

The purpose of the project is to provide employees whose employment or self-employment is at risk, temporary, or precarious with the appropriate competencies to ease their transition in the labor market and prevent unemployment. Indirectly, the project also aims to support employers in acquiring suitably trained employees.

The objectives of the project are to:

  • enable employees, self-employed persons, and precarious workers whose jobs are at risk or who face atypical forms of work to more easily transition to new jobs or employment and to increase their employment opportunities,

  • activate target group members in a timely manner to prevent them from falling into open unemployment,

  • reduce and prevent precarious forms of work,

  • improve skills, competencies, and knowledge for more stable and long-term employment,

  • enhance career management skills and development for individuals,

  • increase employment opportunities and competitiveness in the labor market for members of the target group,

  • strengthen the empowerment of the target group in the labor market and provide social security for employees in non-standard forms of work,

  • create new and better-quality jobs and ensure adequate and sufficient human resources for the needs of the labor market.

The total value of the project amounts to EUR 7,000,000.00, of which:

  • EUR 4,375,000 is provided by the European Social Fund+,

  • EUR 2,625,000 is provided by national co-financing.

The SPIN 2.0 project is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, and the European Union through the European Social Fund+.
